Yakima Education Association

A message from our President, Chad Quesnell:

Yakima Education Association (YEA) is one of the largest certified educators’ unions in the state of Washington. We have collectively bargained one of the most beneficial contracts in the state in service to our members.

One of YEA's many functions is to be your advocate and support you in creating the best environment for your students. We help you get the answers you need and connect you with resources to make this year and every year a success. Your colleagues in your school, your building reps, and your YEA leadership team, are there for you to turn to whenever you need support. We believe strong educators are the foundation of strong schools and when we stand together we are better built to make a difference for our colleagues, our profession, and most importantly, to our students.  We encourage you to reach out to your colleagues and attend building meetings and union events to help strengthen these connections.

YEA has helped protect our members for nearly 60 years.  We have negotiated for higher salaries, better working conditions, defended our members, and provided support to all who need it. We look forward to serving you!
